Tripp Tuff, a member of the DePaul University men's tennis team from 2017 through 2022, has joined the
Hofstra tennis staff as a volunteer assistant coach it was announced today by Hofstra Head Tennis Coach
Richard Sipala. During his tenure at DePaul, he helped the Blue Demons to back-to-back Big East championships and was a team captain.
"I am excited to welcome Tripp to our staff," said Sipala. "He enjoyed a very good career at DePaul and brings a championship pedigree to our program. I kow that he will be an asset to our men's and women's teams."
During his tenure at DePaul, Tuff won 75 singles matches and and 59 doubles matches. He was a Big East All-Academic Team selection each season, as well as a five-time ITA All-Academic Team selection. He earned ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades on three occasions and was a three-time ITA Community Service Award recipient.
In addition to his participation on the tennis team, the Watermill, New York, native was also a member of the DePaul Athletics Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, where he worked with staff and student-athletes on various social justice initiatives on campus. He also served on the Captain's Council, which met weekly with the athletic administration and devised social media campaigns dealing with mental health and social justice issues.
A 2020 cum laude graduate with a degree in neuroscience and minors in peace, justice, and conflict studies, Tuff earned his master's degree in public health with a concentration in community health practice from DePaul in 2022.
