Syosset, NY - Hofstra won the doubles point and swept all three completed singles matches in a 4-0 victory over LIU Sunday night at Sportime in Syosset, New York. The win was Hofstra's third in a row and improved the Pride's record to 4-2 on the season.
Josh Reynolds and
Matthew Garcia started off the night with a win at No. 2 doubles, 6-2, over Gui Medeiros and Ales D'Anna.
Ostap Kovalenko and
Bo Cautaerts followed with a 6-2 win over Philip Hilble and Tuna Nergizoglu at No. 1 to clinch the point.
Garcia kept the momentum going in singles as he earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory over D'Anna at No. 3, followed by a 6-4, 6-3 win from
Vincent Turina at the No. 4 flight over Danila Ishchanka. Kovalenko sealed the deal with a 7-6 (3), 6-4 win over Hilble at No. 1 that ended the match.
Hofstra is back in action Wednesday against St. John's at Point Set Indoor in Oceanside, New York. Match time is 2 p.m.
