Hofstra Travels to The Garden State To Take On Monmouth

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra women's basketball team resumes competition this Friday, February 3, with a road matchup against Colonial Athletic Association foe Monmouth from West Long Branch, New Jersey.
 
Tip-off on Friday is at 7 p.m. from OceanFirst Bank Center.
 
FloHoops will carry the live video broadcast of Friday's game, and WRHU 88.7FM will have an audio-only broadcast. Hofstra dropped a 74-55 home contest to Hampton this past Sunday, sending the Pride to 8-12 overall and 2-7 in the CAA. Brandy Thomas led the Pride with 20 points and 10 rebounds against the Lady Pirates, and Sorelle Ineza chipped in with 10 points.
 
In its first year as a CAA member after joining in July 2022 from the MAAC, Monmouth is currently 10-11 overall and 5-5 in the conference following a January 27 win over Hampton and a defeat to Northeastern on January 29. Picked to finish tied for 10th in the CAA Preseason Poll, the Hawks are led by Bri Tinsley with 11.5 points per game and Ariana Vanderhoop with 10.6 points per game.
 
Friday will be the 13th meeting between Hofstra and Monmouth, with Monmouth holding a 7-5 advantage in the all-time series. Friday's game will also be the first meeting between the programs since November 2001, a 67-62 win for the Hawks.
