Baltimore, MD - For the second time this season,
Morgan Serkes crossed the finish line first, as the Hofstra women's outdoor track graduate transfer won the 1500m at the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational Saturday afternoon from Johns Hopkins/Loyola Track & Field Complex in Baltimore, Maryland.
Joining the Pride this season after a four-year career at Siena College, Serkes broke the tape in the 1500m with a time of 4:39.72, her fastest time as a member of the Pride. Serkes finished .22 seconds ahead of runner-up Avery Schiffman from Washington and Lee, and she led the way for the entire race in the field of 25 runners.
This is the second first-place finish of the season for Serkes, after she won the 1500m at the Stony Brook Snowflake Classic on March 19.
The Hofstra women's outdoor team will hit the track again on Thursday, April 28, at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the West Point Twilight in West Point, New York.
