Jordyn McDonnell became the second Hofstra women's track runner to win an event this season as the junior finished first in the 2000m Steeplechase at the Sam Howell Invitational from Weaver Stadium on the campus of Princeton University.
The Lake Ronkonkoma, New York native topped the field in the 2000m Steeplechase when she crossed the finish line in a time of 6:22.46, finishing over five seconds faster than runner-up Alexis Allen of Princeton. McDonnell was an All-CAA honoree in the outdoor 3000m Steeplechase in 2021, and she represented the Pride in the Mile at the 2021 IC4A/ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in March.
Morgan Serkes also raced for Hofstra at Weaver Stadium. Serkes ran in the 1500m, and the graduate student from Goshen, New York completed the race in 4:42.23, topping her previous best time of the season from the Stony Brook Snowflake Classic.
 Hofstra will return to action next Saturday, April 9, at the Metropolitan Championships from Icahn Stadium in New York City.
