Bo Cautaerts rallied for a three-set win at No. 1 singles to give Hofstra a 4-3 victory over visiting Queens College Wednesday at the Hofstra Tennis Courts. Hofstra improved to 5-7 on the season with the win while Queens slipped to 11-7 overall.
Hofstra won the doubles point as Cautaerts and
Ostap Kovalenko picked up a 6-3 win at the No.1 flight over Omar El Shehawey and Moritz Borges.
Josh Reynolds and
Vincent Turina followed with a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles over Kareem Rashad and Lucas Demuth to clinch the point.
The teams split the singles matches with Hofstra winning the top three flights. Kovalenko downed Mariano Bibiloni at No. 2 (6-1, 6-1). Reynolds followed with a win (7-6 (4), 7-5) over Demuth at No. 3. Cautaerts closed it out with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 win over Rashad at the top flight.
Hofstra is back in action April 15 at home against NJIT with a 1 p.m. match time.
