Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Pride baseball team hosts Colonial Athletic Association rival College of Charleston in a three-game series at University Field beginning Friday (April 1) at 3 p.m. The series continues Saturday at 1 p.m. and concludes Sunday at 12 p.m. Please note that the Sunday game time is a change from the originally schedule 1 p.m.

Hofstra enters the series with a 2-1 record in CAA play and a 10-9 overall record. The Pride is coming off a 4-3 loss in 10 innings at LIU on Wednesday. Hofstra rallied to tie the score in the ninth before the Sharks loaded the bases in the 10th and won on a hit batsman.
Anthony D'Onofrio and
Steve Harrington extended their hitting streaks to eight games in the loss, while
Kevin Bruggeman collected a hit in his seventh consecutive game. Pitcher
John Mikolaicyk made his first appearance in nearly a month and went two innings in the midweek start.
Charleston is 3-0 in league play and 15-10 overall. The Cougars lost at No. 23 Charlotte, 9-0, this past Tuesday and were held to two hits in the contest. Charleston had opened CAA play with a sweep of CAA preseason favorite Northeastern. JT Marr has been Charleston's top hitter with a .368 average, three home runs, and 20 RBIs. Trotter Harlan is batting .313 with three home runs and 18 RBIs. Preston Hall leads the Cougars with six home runs and has added 18 RBIs.

Hofstra is 8-16 all-time versus Charleston. The teams have not met since 2019 when the Pride was swept in a three-game series at Charleston. Hofstra swept the Cougars in their last visit to
Hempstead in 2018.
Following this series, Hofstra will remain at home for a Tuesday afternoon matchup against LIU. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
