NCAA Northeast Regionals On Deck for Hofstra

Hempstead, NY – After running in the 2022 Colonial Athletic Association Cross Country Championship on October 26, the Hofstra women's cross country team heads to the Bronx, New York to compete in the 2022 NCAA Division I Northeast Regional Championship on Friday (Nov. 11).

The women's 6K race from Van Cortlandt Park will begin at 11 a.m. LexiconTiming will provide live results of the men's and women's races on Friday. This link, as well as the link to the Northeast Regional Championship webpage, are available on this page and the schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

The Pride finished ninth as a team at the CAA Championship on October 26, with Jordyn McDonnell leading the way with an 18th-place finish in a time of 22:22.4. She was followed by Sophia Masciarelli (23:41.5) in 55th, Allison Reid (24:17.3) in 68th, Jackalynn Orellana (25:08.7) in 80th, and Leslie Villafuerte Castro (25:32.9) in 84th.

Head Coach Vincent Giambanco announced that Masciarelli, McDonnell, Orellana, Reid, Villafuerte Castro, and Samantha Szabo will be donning the Hofstra bibs and running on Friday. McDonnell paced Hofstra at the 2021 Northeast Regional Championship with a 98th-place finish on a rainy Franklin Park course in Massachusetts, while the team finished 31st among the field.
