Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University student-athletes continued their outstanding academic efforts during the Fall 2021 semester and the Department of Athletics is proud to share that Hofstra's 445 student-athletes recorded an overall grade point average of 3.41 for the semester. It is the 19th consecutive semester that Pride's dedicated student-athletes have recorded a combined GPA above 3.00. The department's overall cumulative GPA is an impressive 3.47 following the fall semester. Twenty Hofstra athletic programs compiled grade point averages above 3.0 during the Fall 2021 semester.

"Hofstra's student-athletes continue to impress in the classroom in addition to their outstanding efforts in competition," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Rick Cole Jr. "We could not be prouder and we congratulate them all on an outstanding fall semester. As always, our devoted academic services team should also be recognized for their role in Hofstra's academic success."

The Hofstra women's tennis and men's soccer programs led the way during the Fall 2021 semester with each team posting a 3.64 grade point average. The women's soccer program led all teams with 11 student-athletes earning perfect 4.0 grade point averages. The men's soccer team was the top male team with seven 4.0 student-athletes.   



Hofstra student-athletes have a dedicated staff at the Fried Center for Student-Athlete Development in James C. Metzger Hall who guide each student-athlete to success from the time of enrollment to graduation. The Fried Center provides space for private study, computer labs, and a private conferencing area for tutoring and mentoring appointments.
