Ana Martinovic led Hofstra with 13 kills, but it wasn't enough as the Hofstra volleyball team fell in straight sets to Seton Hall on Friday afternoon at the Fairfield Invitational.
Hofstra, which fell to 3-3 on the season, lost by set scores of 21-25, 20-25, and 15-25. Seton Hall improved to 2-3 with the win.
Freshman
Beatriz Alves tallied a double-double with 24 assists and 14 digs for the Pride, while
Chiara Cucco continued the solid start to her collegiate career with 15 digs.
Lucas Perri posted 12 kills for Seton Hall.
Hofstra plays its final match at the Fairfield Invitational on Saturday at 2 p.m. when it takes on the host Stags.
NOTES
- Hofstra is now 11-7 all-time against Seton Hall. The Pride had won the most recent meeting in five sets during the spring 2021 season.
- Cucco has reached double figures in digs in all six matches this season.
- The double-double by Alves was her second of the season.
