Baltimore, MD - The Loyola (MD) women's tennis team defeated Hofstra, 7-0, Tuesday at the McClure Tennis Center. The Greyhounds moved to 4-1 on the season with the win while Hofstra fell to 0-2.
Hofstra, which only had four healthy players, dropped the doubles point after defaulting at the No. 3 flight and losing at the No. 1 flight as Loyola's Kateri Martin and Abigail Thornton defeated
Mandisa Walle and
Isabella Tonuzi, 6-2.
Leading in the match, 3-0, following two singles flight defaults by Hofstra, Loyola clinched the win with a win (6-1, 6-2) by Thornton over Walle at No. 2.
Hofstra will return to action on Monday, April 5 at Siena. Start time is 12 p.m.
