Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's basketball team will begin play in the 2020 Hercules Tires CAA Men's Basketball Championship on Sunday in the quarterfinals.
The Pride will face the winner of the #8 Drexel/#9 UNCW contest at 12 p.m. from the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.
There will be FloHoops live video of the game as well as a Pride Productions live audio broadcast, courtesy of WRHU (88.7 FM). Links to the broadcasts, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page as well as on the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.
Hofstra went 23-8 overall and 14-4 in CAA play during the regular season to win back-to-back outright regular season CAA titles. Hofstra becomes only the sixth team in CAA history (since 1982-83) to win back-to-back outright regular season titles. They are the first since Virginia Commonwealth did it three times from 2006-07 to 2008-09. It is also Hofstra's third regular season title in the last five seasons.
The Pride will be looking for its first-ever CAA Championship. Hofstra has advanced to a trio of conference title games since joining the CAA in 2001-02 as the 2005-06, 2015-16 and the 2018-19 squads all advanced to the championship games.
Hofstra has advanced to the NCAA Tournament eight times in its history, including four times at the NCAA Division I level. The Pride's NCAA Tournament appearances include four at the NCAA Division II level (1959, 1962, 1963, and 1964) and the four at the NCAA Division I level (1976, 1977, 2000, and 2001).
The semifinals and championship games of the tournament will air on the CBS Sports Network.
