Kiawah Island, SC - Hofstra shot a first round 338 (+50) and is in 49th place after one round of the Kiawah Island Classic hosted by College of Charleston at the Osprey Point Golf Club. The 53-team, 265-player field is the largest college golf tournament in the nation.
Cynthia Zhao led the Pride on day one with an 80 (+8) and is tied for 160th-place.
Cameron Waltman shot an 83 (+11) and is tied for 212th.
Averee Dovsek (87, +15) is tied for 242nd,
Georgia Shevitt (88, +16) is tied for 246th, and
Emmah Federman (95, +23) is tied for 259th.
College of Charleston leads the team scoring at 281 (-7), seven strokes better than IUPUI which shot a 288 (E). Charleston Sothern's Ellen Hume is the first round individual leader at 67 (-5).
In a separate tournament just for individual entrants, played at Cougar Point on Kiawah Island, the Pride's
Maya Torpey is in 14th-place in the 15-player field at 93 (+21).
The Kiawah Island Classic continues Monday with round two.
