STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Hofstra men's track team competed on February 7 at the UAlbany Winter Classic at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Freshman
Paul Markovina paced Hofstra with a time of 8:42.78 in the 3000m run, good for a 12th place finish. Sophomore
Tosin Ibironke completed the race in 9:29.83 and freshman
Ben Haber, who competed in the 3000m for the first time in his career, recorded a time of 9:34.57.
Three Hofstra relay teams competed in the 4x400 relay as well, although times were only considered for two teams. Relay team A composed of entries including Ibironke, Haber,
Konrad Rynkowski,
Dylan Price,
Andrew Giovinazzo and
Tyler McPartland finished the race with a time of 3:56.49 and relay team C composed of entries including of Ibironke, Haber,
Danny Pires,
Jorey Garcia,
Sean Masterson, and
Eryk Yarkosky finished with a time of 4:00.98.
Hofstra is set to compete next at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on February 14 and 15. The meet will take place at the BU Track and Tennis Center in Boston, Mass.
