WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Hofstra men's track team competed in the Army West Point Tune-Up at the Gillis Field House on the grounds of the United States Military Academy on Saturday.
In the 60-meter dash,
Ralph Licciardi led Hofstra with a personal-best time of 7.85 seconds, and three other Hofstra runners finished with a time underneath eight seconds including Hendrik Hebekker (7.89 seconds),
Gavin Jones (7.95 seconds) and
Sean Masterson (7.96 seconds).
In the one-mile run, Hofstra got top-five finishes from
Tosin Ibironke who finished fourth overall with a personal record time of 4:40.97, exactly two seconds faster than his previous time of 4:42.97 from last year at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
Ben Haber ran the mile for the first time in his career and placed fifth with a time of 4:42.47.
In the men's 400-meter dash, Hofstra placed two in the top-five, including
Andrew Giovinazzo who ran the race for the first time in his career and finished third overall with a time of 56.55.
Eryk Yarkosky was fourth and crossed the tape in 56.95, and
Konrad Rynkowski was sixth overall and third among Hofstra runners with a time of 57.79.
The Hofstra men's track team returns to action on Friday, February 28 at the Fastrack Last Chance Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island, N.Y.
