Bethpage, NY - The Hofstra University women's tennis team won the doubles point and all three completed singles matches in a 4-0 victory over Sacred Heart Tuesday at Sportime. The win snapped a four-match losing streak for the Pride and moved their record to 3-4 on the season.
The doubles team of
Katherine Kachkarov and
Odessa Stork, playing at No. 3, got things started with a 6-2 victory over Laura Crivei and Maggie Glynn. The Pioneers won at the No. 2 flight before
Mandisa Walle and
Ronia Dolabany earned the point for Hofstra with a 6-4 win at No. 1 over Brianne Lauria and Adrianne Alfonso.
April Sanchez started things off for Hofstra at singles with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4 over Keira Tobia. Kachkarov followed with a 7-5, 1=6, 6-0 win over Lauria at No. 1 before King clinched the match with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2. The remaining singles matches remained unfinished with the outcome of the match already decided.
Hofstra is back in action Saturday at Rhode Island. Match time is 4:30 p.m.
