Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Acting Head Coach
Mike Farrelly announced today that Griffin Barrouk has signed his National Letter of Intent with the University to further his academic and athletic career. Barrouk will be a freshman in the fall of 2021.
Barrouk, a 6-5 guard, is a native of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, and attends Bayard Rustin High School in West Chester, PA.
"We are really excited about Griffin's potential," commented Farrelly. "Griffin is an incredibly skilled shooter and passer with great basketball IQ. He loves the game and has a tireless work ethic. He is an excellent student-athlete who will be a great addition to our program both on and off the court. Griffin comes from a great family and we can't wait for him to join the Hofstra community."
Barrouk was named honorable mention All-Chester County by the Daily Local as a junior after averaging 14 points per game. He also earned first team All-Ches-Mont League accolades, while adding seven rebounds and four assists per outing. A strong student, he carries a 3.8-grade point average.
Barrouk's father, Chuck, played basketball at Clarion and also with the Washington Generals, and his brother, Bryce, is a junior on the basketball team at Penn State-Brandywine.
