Oceanside, NY - Hofstra swept all six singles flights and three doubles flights in a 7-0 victory over Adelphi Sunday afternoon at Point Set Indoor. The Pride moved to 6-3 on the season with the win.
Hofstra took the doubles point as
Coco Haener and
Shawn Jackson blanked Sabin Saveluc and Luke Attride-Stirling, 6-0, at the No. 1 flight and
Marcus Smith and
Jan Leithner followed with a 6-2 win against Volodymyr Petrushevskyi and David Leader at No. 3.
Ryan Hardin and
Giacomo Pezzoli completed the sweep at No. 2, winning 6-3 over the Panthers Finn Krause and David Robres.
The Pride's dominance extended to singles play as Jackson opened play with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Attride-Stirling at No. 2. Smith followed with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Saveluc at No. 1. Haener clinched the match for the Pride when he picked up a 7-6, 6-3 victory at No. 3 over Robres.
Julien Wolfe defeated Leader at No. 5, 6-1, 6-1, to make it 5-0 in favor of the Pride. Pezzoli had a 6-4, 6-0 win against Petrushevskyi at No. 4, and Hardin closed out the match with an 8-3 win against Krause at No. 6.
Hofstra returns to action Friday at Sacred Heart. Match time is set for 5 p.m.
