Hofstra fell to 7-15 overall and 1-9 in CAA play. The Tigers snapped a two-game losing streak with the win and moved to 13-8 on the year and 7-3 in conference play.
Both teams got off to slow offensive starts with Towson holding a 4-0 lead three minutes into the game. Hofstra got on the board 3:39 into the game on a
Petja Krupenko jumper, but neither team would score again until 3:50 remained when Towson's Ryan Holder hit one-of-two free throws to give the Tigers a 5-2 advantage. After the Tigers went up, 10-2, the Pride scored eight consecutive points including a run -closing three-pointer from Karsten to make it a 10-10 game at the end of the first quarter.Â

Marianne Kalin that stopped an 11-0 Towson run. The teams traded baskets, but Hofstra would draw within nine, 30-21, after a three-pointer from Karsten with 3:24 to go.
Sica Cuzic's two free throws with 1:12 remaining in the quarter made it a 32-25 game and after a Towson turnover, Karsten's two foul shots got the Pride to within five, 32-27, with 33 seconds on the clock. But Maia Lee beat the buzzer for Towson on the final possession to send the Tigers into the locker room with a 34-27 lead. Â Â
After a relatively high-scoring second quarter (24-17), the teams once again started slowly in the third. The teams combined for 10 points over the first 4:05 with the Tigers holding a 6-4 edge in the quarter and a 40-31 overall advantage. The Tigers would grow the lead to as many as 12 in the stanza, the last at 49-37 following a Danielle Durjan layup. An old-fashioned three-point play from Brozoski cut the Hofstra deficit to nine, 49-40, with 2:11 remaining. Trailing by eight,
Vanerlie Valcourt bucket made it a six-point game with 1:30 to go. Holder would hit a pair of free throws with 2.2 seconds left in the quarter to give the Tigers a 51-43 lead after 30 minutes of action.
The Tigers scored the first four points of the final quarter to go back up by 12, 55-43, before the Pride scored four unanswered on jumpers from Brozoski and
Jaylen Hines that cut the deficit to eight with 7:30 to play. The Tigers would respond with an 8-2 run and took their largest lead of the game, at that point, 63-49, after a Durjan jumper with 3:03 on the clock. The visitor's lead would reach 16 with 2:40 to play after Nukiya Mayo's jumper. Karsten's third three-pointer of the game got the Pride within 11, 65-54, with 1:23 to play.
