Providence, RI - The Hofstra Women's Tennis team won all six singles flights as well as all three doubles matches in a dominating 7-0 road victory at Providence Friday afternoon. The win upped Hofstra's record to 4-3 on the season.
Katherine Kachkarov and
Alejandra Ruffini opened the match with a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles over Hailey Gurski and Aiden Epstein.
Sarah Catherine Herndon and
Jasmine King followed with a 6-4 win at No. 1 over Risa Takenaka and Sera Satkowski.
Odessa Stork and
Ronia Dolabany closed out doubles with a 6-4 victory at No. 3 over Natalie Pitocco and Grace Goyette.
Kachkarov kept the ball rolling at No. 3 singles as she defeated Satkowski, 6-2, 6-0 to give the Pride a 2-0 lead. King notched a 6-2, 6-4 victory at the No. 2 flight over Epstein to increase the lead to 3-0. Herndon gave Hofstra the decisive point at No. 4, picking up a 6-2, 6-3 over Gurski. Stork won at No. 5, 6-3, 6-4, over Pitocco, followed by Ruffini at No. 1, 7-5, 6-1, over Takenaka. Ana Canahaute-Torres closed out the match with a wild 2-6, 7-6, 10-3 victory over Mimi Dailey.
Providence is 1-7 on the year.
The Pride will continue a three-game road weekend Saturday afternoon at the University of Rhode Island. Match time is 4:15 p.m.
