Bethpage, NY - Ana Canahuate-Torres and Katherine Kachkarov picked up singles wins as Hofstra dropped a 5-2 decision to Marist Saturday afternoon at Sportime in Bethpage, New York.

The Pride saw their record even out at 2-2 while Marist moved to 3-5 on the year.

The Red Foxes won the doubles point, taking two of the three flights. Canahuate-Torres and Mandisa Walle did win at the second flight for the Pride, 6-2, over Sophia Moeller and Jada Tijani.

Kachkarov evened the match score with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Madison Price at No. 2 singles. But the Red Foxes won the next four flights to clinch the match. Canahuate-Torres closed out the match with a 6-2, 4-6, 11-9 win over Sam Galu at the fifth flight.

Hofstra will have a busy Sunday with a 9 a.m. match against LIU Brooklyn and a 1 p.m. match against Colgate. Both will take place at Sportime.
