Manchester, CT - Marcus Smith, Coco Haener, and Giacomo Pezzoli each won their singles matches, but Connecticut won three singles flights and the doubles point in a 4-3 victory Sunday at Magic Lincer Tennis Club.

Connecticut improved to 5-4 on the season, while Hofstra dropped to 3-2.

Smith posted a 6-4, 6-7 (8), 6-2 win at the No. 1 flight over Yili Zheng. Haener picked up a straight set win over Hank Hill at No. 3, 6-4, 6-2, while Pezzoli rallied from a set down to pick up the win at No. 4 over Jack McLister, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Hofstra will return to action Saturday when it hosts Marist at Sportime in Bethpage. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
