12/8/2019 10:32:00 AM

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's basketball team will return home to the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex for the first time since November 15 when it hosts Stony Brook in "The Long Island Rivalry, presented by The Greene Turtle" on Tuesday evening.

Tip-off from the Mack Sports Complex is slated for 7 p.m.

For ticket information visit HofstraTickets.com, call (516) HOF-TIXX or stop by the Hofstra Athletics Ticket Office in the lobby of the Mack Sports Complex during normal business hours.

Hofstra will be celebrating a "BLUE CHRISTMAS" at the game and Santa Claus will be in the Fan Fest area pregame for photos! In addition, there will be free ugly sweater t-shirts for the first 500 Hofstra students and the first 500 Hofstra staff members at that game!

There will be live video, via FloHoops, of the game as well as Pride Productions live audio, courtesy of WRHU (88.7 FM). Links to both, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page and on the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra owns a commanding 22-5 record in the all-time series with their Long Island neighbor. The Pride has won three straight in the series, including a 71-64 road victory last year as then-sophomore Tareq Coburn 16 points and eight rebounds and then-junior Desure Buie tallied 12 points and four assists. The series between the schools got started in 1972-73 with a 103-80 Pride win and Hofstra won each of the first six meetings.

Hofstra brings a 6-4 record into the meeting with the Seawolves following a road loss to St. Bonaventure on Saturday. Buie led the Pride with 17 points against the Bonnies.

Buie has been solid all season for the Pride as he leads the team with 16.4 points per game, while also ranking first with 5.8 assists and 2.6 steals per contest. Senior Eli Pemberton ranks second on the team in scoring with 16.1 points per outing and is third with 5.8 caroms per contest. Junior Jalen Ray is third in scoring with 12.9 points per game and Coburn is fourth in scoring (12.9) and first in rebounding (6.8). Sophomore Isaac Kante is averaging 9.6 points and 6.6 rebounds to rank second on the squad.

Stony Brook is 7-3 entering Tuesday's showdown and has won two straight, including a 79-63 win over Brown on Saturday. Elijah Olaniyi leads the Seawolves with 19.7 points per game, while Makale Foreman is second with 14.4 and Andrew Garcia is third on the team with 11.7 points per outing. Jeff Otchere is tops on Stony Brook with 6.5 rebounds per game.
