MTRK: Hofstra Men Compete in Three Events At Army West Point Crowell Open

West Point, NY – The Hofstra men's indoor track team concluded their first weekend of competition Saturday afternoon as the Pride competed in the Army West Point Crowell Open at the Gillis Field House on the grounds of the United States Military Academy.

The Pride entered nine student-athletes in the 60m dash Saturday. Freshman Darius Parker placed 17th in 7.61 with junior Tosin Ibironke placing 19th in 7.65 and sophomore Gavin Jones placing 20th in 7.66. Junior Jorey Garcia finished 26th in 7.84, classmate Ralph Licciardi was 27th in 7.91 and freshman Eryk Yarkosky was 28th in 8.30. Sophomore Paul Markovina was 30th in 9.69, junior Tyler McPartland was 31st in 10.29, and freshman Ben Haber was 32nd in 11.54.

Hofstra had four entries in the 400m dash and was led by junior Konrad Rynkowski, who placed 13th in 57.54. Freshman Dylan Price was 16th in 58.64, while juniors Danny Pires was 18th in 1:00.36 and Sean Masterson was 19th in 1:01.78

Pride junior Andrew Giovinazzo was the only Hofstra competitor in the 500m dash and placed eighth in 1:17.02.
 
The Pride will return to action on Friday, January 24 when they compete in the Dr. Sander Invitational at the New York City Armory.
