ATH: Colston Inducted Into Saints Hall Of Fame

Hempstead, NY - Former Hofstra football student-athlete Marques Colston was inducted into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame over the weekend. 

A four-year letterman and a three-year starter at Hofstra from 2001 through 2005, Colston was selected in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints after an outstanding career with the Pride. As a senior, he was an All-Atlantic 10 Football Conference first team selection and held the Hofstra record for career receiving yards. Colston posted 70 receptions for 975 yards and five touchdowns in 2005 to finish his career with 182 receptions for 2,834 yards and 18 touchdowns. His 182 catches rank third on the Hofstra career reception list, while his 2,834 yards is second. Colston, whose jersey number 89 was retired in 2008, earned his bachelor of arts degree in interdisciplinary studies in 2006. 

Colston played in 146 career games for the Saints with 106 starts and recorded 711 receptions for 9,759 yards and 72 touchdowns. Colston is ranked first in club record books in catches, receiving yardage, receiving touchdowns, total touchdowns (72) and tied for first with 28 100-yard receiving performances. A Saints All-50th Team selection in 2016, Colston will be inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame this October. 

Off the field, Colston has also excelled as an entrepreneur and investor at the intersection of sports, wellness, and technology. His consulting firm Dynasty Innovation specializes in accelerating growth in early stage to emerging companies and small businesses. He is the Managing Director for the Center for Innovation at Virtua Health systems, and also serves on the Advisory Board for the One Team Collective, a sports technology accelerator run by the NFL Players Association (NFLPA).
