Lucy Porter scored a goal off a corner kick set piece in the 71
st minute to lift Hofstra past Stony Brook, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Hofstra Soccer Stadium. The win gave Hofstra another victory in "The Long Island Rivalry", presented by The Greene Turtle. The Pride is 3-0 against the Seawolves this fall with wins in volleyball, men's soccer and women's soccer.
Hofstra moved to 6-3 on the season with its second win in as many games. Stony Brook saw a two-game win streak halted and fell to 4-5.
The Pride dominated play overall, holding a 17-6 advantage in shots and a 9-4 edge in corner kicks. But Hofstra could not capitalize until a corner kick attempt at 70:22.

Madeline Anderson flicked it to Porter, who headed in her second tally of the season.
Ashley Wilson, who came on in goal to start the second half for the Pride, picked up the win after making one save in the final 45 minutes.
Jenna Borresen started and had two saves in the opening half.
Stony Brook's Sofia Manner made four saves in a losing effort.
The game marked the final non-conference matchup for the Pride, which is back in action Thursday night when they host Towson to start Colonial Athletic Association play.
Notes:
-Hofstra moved to 11-3 all-time versus Stony Brook and has won nine straight in the series.
-Hofstra is now 2-1 at home and was playing its first home game since August 23.
-Anderson's assist was her first of the season, while Littleboy's was her third.
-Hofstra has recorded back-to-back shutouts.
