Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Volleyball team will host its home opener on Tuesday when the Pride welcomes Long Island rival Stony Brook to campus. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. 

The match, along with all of the Hofstra versus Stony Brook contests in all sports, is being billed as "The Long Island Rivalry", presented by The Greene Turtle. 

The match will be played at the David S. Mack Fitness Center, not the Mack Physical Education Center. 

There will be Pride Productions live video and audio of the game, as well as live statistics. Audio for the broadcasts is provided by WRHU (88.7 FM). Hofstra brings a 2-1 mark into Tuesday's encounter as the Pride earned wins over Rhode Island and Temple and suffered their lone defeat to Loyola Marymount in play at the Hilton Penn's Landing Temple Invitational over the weekend. 

The Seawolves are also 2-1 as they started the season with victories over Jacksonville and San Jose State before dropping their final match of the weekend to South Florida. 

Hofstra is 7-1 all-time against Stony Brook. The Pride has won five straight in the series dating back to 2009.
