Syosset, NY - The Hofstra University Women's Tennis team won five of the six singles flights, three in three sets, to post a 5-2 victory over Binghamton Friday night at Sportime in Syosset, New York.
Hofstra improved to 8-11 on the season, while the Bearcats fell to 4-12.
Ana Canahuate-Torres and
Meheq Khokhar won their doubles match, 6-3, at No. 3 but Binghamton took the other two for a 1-0 match lead.
Alejandra Ruffini tied the score with a win at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2, over Michelle Eisenberg.
Khokhar put the Pride ahead with a 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 4 over Ashley Granieri. But Binghamton won a three-set match at No. 3 to even things at 2-2.
Odessa Stork picked up three-set victory over Tiffany Dun at No. 5, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2, to give Hofstra the lead for good.
Michal Kaplan followed with a win over Samara Eisenberg at No. 1, rallying from a set down to post the 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 win.
Ronia Dolabany closed the match with a 1-6, 6-3, 10-8 win over Maria Pandya at No. 6.
Hofstra returns to action at Long island rival Stony Brook on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
