Stony Brook, NY - Alejandra Ruffini posted Hofstra's lone victory, winning at No. 2 singles, as Stony Brook came away with a 4-1 win over the Pride Wednesday afternoon. 

Hofstra fell to 8-12 on the season, while the Seawolves improved to 7-6.

Ruffini captured a 6-1, 6-2 win over Ester Chikvashvili at the second flight that made the score 2-1 in favor of Stony Brook. But the home team won the final two completed flights to clinch the win. Maria Pinto Ribeiro's 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 4 over Meheq Khokhar sealed the victory.

Hofstra is back in action Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Monmouth.
