Bethpage, NY – Alejandra Ruffini posted Hofstra's lone victory of the match as Delaware claimed a 6-1 win over the Pride in a Colonial Athletic Association match Thursday at Sportime in Bethpage, New York.

Hofstra fell to 7-11 overall and 0-2 in the CAA. Delaware improved to 9-5 overall and 1-1 in league action.

Ruffini, playing at the No. 3 singles flight, picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win over Amanda Studnicki. The victory was Ruffini's 18th of the season. Hofstra's Ronia Dolbany took Sarah Whited to a third set at No. 6. The Pride freshman dropped the first set, 6-2, before coming back to win the second by a 6-2 score. Whited took the flight with a 6-1 win in the third set.

Hofstra is back in action Friday when it hosts Binghamton at Sportime in Syosset at 5 p.m.
