Teddy Cillis pitched a complete game three-hitter, but came up on the short end of a 1-0 pitcher's duel against Towson's Michael Adams Sunday afternoon at Schuerholz Park. Adams (2-2) went the distance as well, allowing three hits while striking out 10.
Hofstra fell to 12-8 overall and 2-4 in CAA play while the Tigers improved to 6-19 overall and 3-3 in league action.

The Tigers put up the game's only run in the fourth as Richie Palacios singled, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and came in on a second wild pitch.

Steven Foster had all three of Hofstra's hits – singles in the third, sixth and ninth innings. All three Towson hits were singles as well as Cillis (0-2) struck out six in the game.

Hofstra is back in action Wednesday afternoon when it hosts Manhattan at 3 p.m.
