Hamden, CT - Sophomore
Alyssa Parrella totaled six points (2G, 4A), eight draw controls and three ground balls to lead the Hofstra Women's Lacrosse team to a 13-4 rout of Quinnipiac on Tuesday afternoon at the QU Lacrosse Stadium. Parrella went over 100 points for her career in the victory as she now has 104 points on 66 goals and 38 assists through 21 career games.
Hofstra improves to 3-2 with the victory, while Quinnipiac sees its record even up at 3-3. The Pride received hat tricks from senior

Jenna Budd in the game, while junior
Maddie Fields made 13 saves in net.
Parrella, Budd and Shapiro scored for Hofstra in the first 10 minutes of the game to give the Pride an early 3-1 lead with 20:55 left before halftime. Quinnpiac knotted the score at three with 12:26 left in the opening stanza before freshman
Katie Whelan kick-started a half-closing 4-0 scoring run that gave the Pride a 7-3 lead at the break.
Goals from Parrella and Shapiro in the first five minutes of the second stanza would push the Pride advantage to six, 9-3, with 25:14 left to give Hofstra the commanding lead. Following a goal from Quinnipiac's Ashley Bobinski that made it 9-4 with 15:07 remaining, Hofstra would close the contest with four straight goals to capture the dominating victory.
Whelan, who was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week earlier in the day, had three points (2G, 1A) and four draw controls in the game. Freshman
Arianna Esposito chipped in with a pair of goals for the Pride. Senior
Carlee Ancona posted three caused turnovers and two ground balls, while freshman
Shannon Boyle led Hofstra with four ground balls. Ashley Bobinski had two goals for Quinnipiac, while Kiera Kelly had three ground balls and Aubrey Conto tallied two caused turnovers. Victoria Bobinski notched a pair of draw controls for the Bobcats.
Hofstra returns to action on Saturday when it travels to #23 Johns Hopkins for a 1 p.m. contest.

- Hofstra is now 6-0 all-time against Quinnipiac.
- Fields has a combined 29 saves for Hofstra over the Pride's last two games after tallying a career-best 16 against #2 Maryland on Saturday.
- The hat trick was the first of Budd's career and the first of the season for Shapiro.
- The four ground balls marked a new season-high for Boyle.
