Box Score Bethpage, NY - Coco Haener's win at third singles was the clinching point in Hofstra's 5-2 victory over Connecticut Saturday night at Sportime in Bethpage. The Pride improved to 5-3 with the win, while Connecticut slipped to 3-7.

Hofstra took the doubles point as Haener and Niko Vulinovich defeated Brady Flanagan and Justin Warren, 7-5, at No. 1, and Jan Leithner and Marcus Smith downed Yili Zheng and Jonathan Edwards at No.2, 6-3.

Smith kept the momentum going with a win over Zheng at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-1). Leithner followed with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2 over Hank Hill to give the Pride a 3-0 lead. Following a Connecticut win by Jack McLister at No. 4, Haener clinched the Pride's victory at No. 3 with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Warren. Nick Silvestri also won for the Pride, winning a three-set match over John Holtman at No. 5 (6-4, 2-6, 10-6).

Hofstra returns to action Friday at Siena.
