Box Score Newark, NJ - Sarah Catherine Herndon lost in three sets at No. 3 singles as Hofstra fell at NJIT Saturday, 7-0.

Hofstra fell to 6-6 on the season, while NJIT moved to 6-5.

Herndon won the first set against Maya Eltony, 6-4, before falling by a 7-6 score in the second. The two then played a long third set with the Highlander coming out on top, 14-12. NJIT won the other five singles flights in straight sets and took two of three doubles flights. Herndon and Jasmine King did post a a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles over Holly Matson and and Rafaella Sampaio.

Hofstra returns to action Friday afternoon when it hosts Sacred Heart at 3 p.m.
