Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Bethpage, NY – The Hofstra Women's Tennis team split a pair of matches Saturday at Sportime in Bethpage. The Pride dropped a 4-3 decision to LIU Brooklyn in their opening match before rebounding with a 7-0 win over Wagner in the evening.

The Pride moved to 3-2 on the season. LIU Brooklyn is 4-1 on the year while Wagner is 4-3.

Against the Blackbirds, the defending Northeast Conference champions, the teams split singles with Alejandra Ruffini (No. 3), Disha Yellayi (No. 5) and Odessa Stork (No. 6) earning wins.  But LIU Brooklyn took the doubles point to start the match and that proved to be the difference.

The Pride swept all six singles and all three doubles matchups versus Wagner. Hofstra posted straight set wins in all six matches.

Hofstra will travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday to face Penn. Match time is slated for 5 p.m.
