Brozoski, Leon and Davis each had seven points in the quarter.
While the Tigers picked up their game in the second quarter they could make a dent in the Hofstra lead as the Pride boosted the lead to 44-23 on two free throws by Brozoski with 1:40 to play in the second quarter. Hofstra led 44-25 at halftime.
Towson made a run in the third quarter, going on a 15-8 spurt to close to within 12 at 52-40 on a Durjan three-pointer with 6:05 to play in the third. But the Pride quickly bumped the lead back to 16 at 65-49 after three quarters.
The Tigers made another run in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Pride, 14-7 over the first 5:31 to close to within single digits at 72-63 with 4:29 to play after a Mayo jumper. Cuevas had six points in the spurt. But Hofstra responded with a 10-2 run of its own, behind four points from both Brozoski and Leon to put the game out of reach at 82-65 with 59 seconds to play.
