Bronx, NY - Marcus Smith and Jan Leithner won a pair of matches Sunday to claim the doubles title at the Fordham Quad. The win was the duo's first championship of the season.
 
The Hofstra tandem picked up a 6-4 win in the semifinals over Wagner's Ilya Kneppelhout and Siddharth Anand, and then posted a 6-0 win in the finals against Finn Kemper and Max Green of Fordham.
 
The Pride did not fare was well in singles play as all three Hofstra players that advanced to the semifinals lost their matches. Fabian Mauritzson (Fordham) defeated, 6-0, 6-4, at the A Flight; Lutwin de Macar (Fordham) defeated Shawn Jackson, 6-1, 6-2, in B Singles and Eric Poland (Wagner) defeated Ryan Hardin, 6-1, 6-1, in another B Singles semifinal.
 
Hofstra did get three wins in consolation singles play with Leithner, Jackson and Giacomo Pezzoli all picking up victories.
 
The Pride is back in action next weekend at the Navy Fall Invitational.
