Princeton, NJ - Marcus Smith and Jan Leithner each won their singles matches on day one of the Farnsworth Invitational at Princeton University Friday. The pair also teamed up to go 1-1 in doubles play.

Smith defeated David Gorshein of Army West Point, 6-4, 6-2 in his first match. Leithner also picked up a win over an Army West Point cadet, downing Anat Mundra by scores of 7-6 (6) and 6-2.
In doubles play, the pair defeated Gorshein and Mundra, 8-6, before falling to Princeton's Justin Barki and Jimmy Wasserman, 8-4.

Shawn Jackson and Ryan Hardin were also in action for the Pride. Jackson fell, 7-5 and 6-3, to Kabir Sarita of Princeton and Hardin lost to Princeton's Noah Agarwal, 6-1, 6-3. The pair also went 0-2 in doubles play, falling 8-3 to Agarwal and Sarita in their first match. Jackson and Hardin then lost to NJIT's Tom Antoljak and George Svensson, 8-4.

The Farnsworth Invitational continues Saturday.
