Hempstead, NY - In a battle between the top two teams in the Colonial Athletic Association standings, undefeated Northeastern came away with a 1-0 victory over Hofstra Thursday night at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.
The Huskies moved to 5-0 in the CAA and 8-6-1 overall, extending their win streak to five games. Hofstra saw a two-game winning streak end and fell to 3-2 in league play and 9-5 overall.
Northeastern would get the only goal of the game in the 26th-minute as Chelsea Domond took a long pass from Lizzie George at the top of the box and made a quick move through two defenders before lifting a shot over
Jenna Borresen and into the back of the net.
Hofstra had several scoring chances, but Nathalie Nidetch made six saves to post her fifth shutout of the season. The senior had five of her six in the second half.

Notes:
-Hofstra had 20 shots in the game, compared to 13 for Northeastern
-Borresen had three saves for the Pride and played the whole game for the first time this season.
-Borresen has now allowed just two goals this season and just four in 33 career games.

Jenn Buoncore had four of Hofstra's seven shots on goal.
-Hofstra is now 14-8-2 against Northeastern and saw a four-game win streak against the Huskies come to an end.
