MTEN: Jackson, Leithner Fall In ITA Qualifying

Princeton, NJ - Jan Leithner advanced to the second round of qualifying but came up short in his bid to qualify for the ITA Northeast Regional main singles draw. Shawn Jackson also competed in the qualifying round and dropped his first round match.

Leithner began his day with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Quinnipiac's Patrick Cachapero. He then faced Cornell's Pietro Romondini in the second round with a qualifying spot on the line and dropped a 6-4, 6-1 decision. Jackson fell to Rian Pandole of Columbia, 6-2, 6-1.

Marcus Smith is in the main draw and will begin play Friday. He will also team with Leithner in the main doubles draw.
