MSOC: Hofstra Earns Fourth Consecutive Tie With 1-1 Draw At James Madison

Harrisonburg, Va. – The Hofstra Men's Soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with James Madison on Saturday night at Sentara Park.

The Pride (1-3-6, 0-0-4 Colonial Athletic Association) remains unbeaten in CAA play, tying all four of its conference games while playing to draws in six of its past seven contests. James Madison (4-3-3, 1-0-2 CAA) also stayed unblemished in conference.

A trio of Hofstra freshmen teamed up to break the scoreless draw in the 71st, with Storm Strongin taking a free kick just outside the 18-yard-box that George O'Malley headed forward before Matthew Vowinkel tipped it into the back of the net.

The Dukes knotted the score at one less than nine minutes later, with Manuel Ferriol knocking in a shot in the 80th minute.

The Pride's offense pressed in overtime and earned a handful of set-piece opportunities, but couldn't connect to leave the score even at one.

Hofstra steps out of conference for a road contest at Dartmouth at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
