New York, NY - The Hofstra Women's Tennis team wrapped up play at the Columbia Invitational Sunday with
Odessa Stork and
Jasmine King competing in consolation singles play, and the team of King and
Sarah Catherine Herndon in consolation doubles competition.
Stork, a freshman, posted a 2-1 record on the weekend and won her lone match of the day by posting a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Lily O'Fagen of Boston University. The win sent Stork to the finals of the Staten Island/Manhattan Draw against Zofia Stanisz of St. John's, but the match was not contested.
King, a sophomore, dropped her Bronx Draw consolation finals match to OJ Singh of Penn by a score of 6-3, 6-0. But King pulled double duty on the day and teamed with Herndon in the consolation doubles quarterfinals. The pair dropped a 6-4 decision to Penn's Marija Curnic and Marta Kowalska.
Hofstra will be off until next Friday, September 29, when it hosts the Hofstra Invitational.
