Ivania Ortiz tallied 10 kills, 10 digs and four service aces to lead the Hofstra Volleyball team to a dominating three-set sweep of Bryant on Saturday morning in play at the Hofstra/Asics Invitational at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center.
Freshman
Emma Price had 11 kills with no errors for a .647 attack percentage in helping the Pride (8-5) to its fourth straight win and seventh win in its last eight matches. Bryant saw its five-match win streak come to an end as it fell to 7-7 on the season.
Hofstra took complete control of the match in the opening stanza as the Pride used a 24-5 set-closing run to turn an early 6-1 deficit into an easy victory and they never looked back in posting the three-set win. Freshman
Ana Martinovic added seven kills, six digs and three blocks for Hofstra, which also got seven kills and seven blocks from junior
Michela Rucli. Kirstyn Sperry had 16 assist, eight digs and two kills for Bryant.
Hofstra closes play at the Hofstra/Asics Invitational with a 7 p.m. match against Syracuse.
NOTES
- Hofstra is 3-0 all-time against Bryant. The teams last met in 2014 prior to today's contest.

Luisa Sydlik had 37 assists in the match to go over 1,000 for her career. She now has 1,006 assists as a member of the Pride.
- Hofstra's four-match win streak is the Pride's longest since a five-match win streak from September 30 to October 9 of last season. In addition, all four wins have come in sweeps. It is the longest such win streak since winning six straight in sweeps from September 3-13, 2014.
