Corentin Haener and
Santiago Haas each advanced to the semifinals of their respective singles draws, while the doubles team of
Niko Vulinovich and Haener reached the finals of the No. 1 doubles draw at the Bucknell Invitational Saturday.
Smith defeated Blake Oslan of Lafayette, 6-2, 6-1, in the opening round and Blest Jones of Loyola, 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 in the quarterfinals to advance to Sunday's semifinals.
Leithner had a first round bye in the No. 2 draw and then defeated John Yurconic of Lafayette in the quarters, 6-3, 6-3. Haener downed Lafayette's Brandt Baldwin (6-1, 6-0) in the opening round and then defeated Howard's Kyle Martin in the quarterfinals (6-3, 6-1). Haas also advanced to the semifinals, at No. 4, with a quarterfinal win over Chris Kim of Lafayette (6-2, 6-3). Haas had a first round bye.
At No. 3,
David Schrott won his opening round match, 7-5, 6-4, over Matt DeBenditto of Lafayette before falling to Bucknell's Colin Sacco in the quarterfinals, 7-6, 6-0.
Niko Vulinovich and Haener reached the finals of the No.1 doubles draw and will play Bucknell's Dan Wright and Ben Gerber Sunday morning. Schrott and
Nick Silvestri picked up a pair of wins and advanced to the semifinals at No. 2 doubles before falling to Timber Erskine and Drew Krantz of Bucknell, 7-6.
