Hempstead, N.Y. – The Hofstra Women's Soccer team opened its home slate with a bang, topping Eastern Washington, 4-0, on Thursday night at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.
The Pride (2-2-1) had four different goal-scorers, led by senior
Emily Hulbert's goal and assist. The Eagles fell to 2-3 on the season in their first-ever game in New York State.
Hofstra got things started quickly, leading 2-0 just over 17 minutes into the game. Senior
Noriana Radwan got the Pride on the board just over a minute in, bending a corner kick into the top of the net. Hulbert then doubled Hofstra's lead 17:33 into the half, putting the ball away off a header through-ball from junior
Jenn Buoncore.
Freshman
Lucy Shepherd tallied her first career goal, sending a shot into the right corner off a pass from Hulbert in the 36th minute to give the Pride a 3-0 lead at the half. Classmate
Sabrina Bryan added an insurance goal in the 56th minute from close range.
The Pride continues its four-game homestand on Monday, hosting Yale at 7 p.m. at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.
Notes:
-The contest was the first time Hulbert had made the scoresheet twice.
-Bryan now has five points over two games for the Pride.

Ashley Wilson tied a career high with six saves in her second career solo shutout.
-Eastern Washington outshot the Pride, 16-10.
-Hofstra is now unbeaten in its past three games.
