Boston, Mass. – Freshman
Sabrina Bryan's first career goal came in the form of a game-winner, propelling the Hofstra Women's Soccer team to a 2-1 comeback win over Boston University, the Pride's first victory of the season, on Sunday afternoon at Nickerson Field.
Hofstra (1-2-1) faced a 1-0 deficit at halftime after Anna Heilferty got the Terriers (1-3) on the board in the 31st minute with a high shot into the top right side of the net. Senior
Kristin Desmond scored her second goal of the season about 10 minutes into the second half to knot the score at one, one-timing a cross from Bryan for Bryan's first career point. Bryan then gave the Pride the win in the 64th minute, getting the ball near the right corner, dribbling around a defender into the box and firing past BU goalkeeper Hannah Ciolek.
With a season-opening four-game road trip under its belt, the Pride opens its home schedule Thursday night at 7 p.m. against Eastern Washington at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.
