VB: Price Shines In Hofstra Defeat

Charlottesville, VA – Freshman Emma Price had her second straight match in double figures with a match-high 16 kills in the Hofstra Volleyball team's four-set loss to Liberty on Saturday evening.

The loss concludes Hofstra's play at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Cavalier Classic with a 0-3 record. Liberty improves to 1-2 with the victory. Set scores were 25-19, 23-25, 28-26 and 25-20 in favor of the Flames.

The Pride tied the match at one set each with a two-point win in the second stanza as Hofstra outscored Liberty, 8-5, down the stretch to overcome a late 18-17 deficit. The third set went to "overtime" with the stanza tied at 26 before Liberty scored the final two points to take the set and then then eventually won the fourth set to defeat the Pride.

Hofstra will return to action next weekend when it takes part in the GW Invitational at George Washington. The Pride will face LIU Brooklyn on Friday before taking on Indiana and George Washington on Saturday.
