WSOC: Hofstra Drops Road Contest To Penn State

University Park, Pa. – The Hofstra Women's Soccer team fell to Penn State, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at Jeffrey Field.

Hofstra (0-2) held the Nittany Lions (2-0) off the board throughout the first half, with a strong showing from the Pride backline.

Goalkeeper Ashley Wilson made a pair of big saves early in the second half to keep things scoreless, but Penn State netted two goals in less than a minute to put the game out of reach for the Pride. Frankie Tagliaferri knocked in the first off an Emily Ogle corner kick in the 53rd minute before Ogle doubled the Nittany Lions' lead on a penalty kick goal in the 54th minute. Megan Schafer solidified the win with a long-range goal in the 78th minute.
