University Park, Pa. – The Hofstra Women's Soccer team fell to Penn State, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at Jeffrey Field.
Hofstra (0-2) held the Nittany Lions (2-0) off the board throughout the first half, with a strong showing from the Pride backline.
Goalkeeper
Ashley Wilson made a pair of big saves early in the second half to keep things scoreless, but Penn State netted two goals in less than a minute to put the game out of reach for the Pride. Frankie Tagliaferri knocked in the first off an Emily Ogle corner kick in the 53rd minute before Ogle doubled the Nittany Lions' lead on a penalty kick goal in the 54th minute. Megan Schafer solidified the win with a long-range goal in the 78
th minute.
Hofstra stays on the road next weekend, travelling to local rival Columbia for a 6 p.m. game on Friday before heading to Boston University for a 4 p.m. matchup on Aug. 27.

-Wilson finished with five saves, one shy of tying a career high.
