Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Hofstra Women's Soccer team fell to Pittsburgh, 1-0, on a goal in the 88th minute Friday night at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
Hofstra (0-1) outshot the Panthers, 11-5, dominating possession for much of the game. Pittsburgh (1-0) broke the deadlock late in the game, capitalizing on a scramble inside the six-yard box, with Juelle Love putting away a rebound.
In her collegiate debut, freshman
Sabrina Bryan had nearly put the Pride on the board just moments before, ringing a shot off the inside of the post. Hofstra had another close opportunity midway through the first half, with Pitt goalkeeper Katelyn McEachern struggling to smother the ball. McEachern made six saves for the Panthers.
The Pride is back in action on Sunday, travelling to Penn State for a 1 p.m. contest.
