Hempstead, NY – Villanova won the doubles point and all three completed singles matches in a 4-0 win Sunday at the Hofstra Outdoor Tennis Center. The Wildcats moved to 10-7 on the season while Hofstra dipped to 8-12.
Marcus Smith and
Jan Leithner won at No. 2 doubles for the Pride, 6-1, over Thomas Dodson and Tyler Roth. But Villanova won at No. 1 and No. 3 to claim the point.
The Wildcats then posted three straight set wins in singles to clinch the victory. Stefan Suarez defeated
Niko Vulinovich at No. 2, Tommy Mulfur won at No. 5 over
David Schrott and Alastair Hurry downed
Nick Silvestri at No. 6.
Hofstra returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Saint Peter's at 3:30 p.m.
